NYAA Pledge to New Yorkers.
AMNY ran an op-ed by NYAA CEO Kenny Burgos highlighting the new organization’s policy goals and plans to help alleviate the decades-old housing crisis. The op-ed points to several places where better policy would lead to better housing results, including increasing the housing supply, advocating for more vouchers and a less bureaucratic system, housing court reform and an eviction diversion program. Without taking bold action, we will find ourselves in an endless housing emergency.

Housing Voucher 101 Training.
There has been a recent crackdown on source of income discrimination against voucher holders, with settlements and sting operations leading to steep penalties. Housing discrimination is never acceptable. We will be conducting a seminar for our members on best practices and operating procedures for leasing offices. We recommend members have their leasing staff and brokers attend. If you are interested in this training, please fill out this Google form. If you have already filled out the form, you do not need to take any further action at this time. Details to follow.
